Using MPROP in Microsoft Access (Standalone Database)
Download MPROP (extract if xml) into a local folder.
MPROP (April 2, 2008)
Historical MPROP (December 1984 - December 2007)
1987 - 2005: MPROP is in .dbf format
2006 - present: MPROP is in .xml format
Microsoft Access .dbf File
(Do not use Excel to open MPROP.dbf; it is not capable of opening such a large database.)
Locate the .dbf file in your local local folder.
-Right Click on your file
-Rename
IMPORTANT!! -Make sure the new name is LESS THAN 8 characters!
Open Microsoft Access
-Start

-All Programs
-Access
Create a New Database
-File
-New
-Blank Database (located on the left panel of screen)
Navigate to the desired folder where you want to save the Database
-Give it a name and make sure "Save as type:" (*.dbf).
-Create

Import the MPROP.dbf
-File
-Get External Data
-Import
Navigate to the local folder where your MPROP.dbf is located that you Renamed
-Files of type: dBASE IV (*.dbf)
-Select your MPROP.dbf
-Import

-Select
at promt
-Close the "Import" Box
-Double Click your MPROP file (as shown in box below) to open

Open Microsoft Access
-Start

-All Programs
-Access
Create a New Database
-File
-New
-Blank Database (located on the left panel of screen)
Navigate to the desired folder where you want to save the Database
-Give it a name and make sure "Save as type:" (*.mdb).
-Create

Import the MPROP.xml
-File
-Get External Data
-Import
-Files of type: XML Documents (*.xml;*.xsd)
-Select your MPROP.xml
-Import

(If you have to wait don't work on anything else.)
-Options; to view import choices
-OK
Wait while your xml file imports, this may take awhile, you
can view the status at the bottom of the screen.
-Click
when complete.
-Double Click your MPROP file (as shown in box below) to open the database file
